"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Messiah Yeshua for you."

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, 'Messianized' ESV

The Word of God is clear that prayer is a characteristic of a disciple.  In the gospels we see Yeshua doing a lot of praying.  If we want to follow Him and live as He did, then a lifestyle of prayer should be on our 'To-Do Lists."

Praying at all times is something that God wants us to do.  We can therefore be aligned with the will of God by communicating with Him; perhaps at set prayer times, or throughout the day, or just whenever God speaks to us.  We must be open to the Spirit of God.

At Ben David we strongly encourage people to engage in prayer with God at all levels: personal, family and corporate.  We have a 1 hour prayer gathering just prior to our Shabbat services; this ministry is know as "Beit Tefilah" or House of Prayer (Luke 19:46-47 Isaiah 56:7).  We also have an electronic prayer list that is sent weekly (or whenever needed) to the Congregation. If you would like to be included in this prayer list, please send your prayer request to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Finally, we want to remember that prayer is not a "To-Do List" we give to God, though we certainly do ask our Lord for help.  We also take time in these gatherings to give rightful praise to Our Creator who answers prayer.  It is not the "power of prayer" that we seek, but rather the power of God.
