Hebrew Classes

We are blessed to be able to offer two Hebrew classes: Learn to Read Hebrew and Intermediate Modern Hebrew.

The Learn to Read Hebrew class will use the textbook Aleph Isn't Tough to teach students to read Hebrew, starting with the aleph-bet. There are no prerequisites for this class. Learn to Read Hebrew will meet every Shabbat from 1:15 to 1:45 pm, March 6 through June 12, 2010. So, come to the service, grab a bite to eat at the Oneg, and then head off to learn Hebrew!

Learning Hebrew will enhance your life. You will be able to participate in a liturgical service, you will gain an understanding of Hebrew customs, and you will be able to sing along to Hebrew worship songs.

For registration, materials and study requirements, please see the Aleph Isn't Tough page.

The Intermediate Modern Hebrew class will meet every Shabbat from 1:45 to 2:30 pm, February 20 through July 3, 2010. This course will use the textbook Brandeis Modern Hebrew. This course will teach students vocabulary, grammar, conversational skills in the context of Jewish culture and history. Students in this course must read Hebrew fluently and have a basic understanding of Hebrew grammar and syntax.

For registration, materials and study requirements, please see the Brandeis Modern Hebrew page.
