Aleph Isn't Tough

Aleph Isn't Tough: An Introduction to Hebrew for Adults, Book 1This class is for the beginning student. It uses Aleph Isn't Tough to teach the letters and vowels of the Hebrew alphabet. Students will be able to phonetically sound out any vocalized Hebrew text. This is done in the context of vocabulary used in contemporary Jewish life, by introducing vocabulary words, quotes, Hebrew roots, and prayer book excerpts.

The textbook is available from the publisher, URJ.

In addition to the textbook, Sounds of Hebrew flashcards, available from EKS are also required materials for the course.

The course materials may also be ordered from BDMJC. The deadline for ordering through BDMJC is February 20. The order form is available here.

This class begins on March 6, 2010 and continues for 15 weeks. It meets every Shabbat from 1:15 until 1:45 pm.
